Mentoring Objectives & Scope

I've worked with prior SU Albers mentees to successfully negotiate job and internship offers, build confidence in networking, narrow in on business career interest and fit, and help guide job search, interview process, and starting a new job/internship successfully. My goal is to help students prepare practically for real life - from figuring out what may be a good job fit to networking, interviewing, and making it happen. Everything I wish I knew as a college student and probably learned the hard way.

As a mentor, I can support students in the following:

- Resume review, interview prep, LinkedIn branding
- Student transition from college to first professional role
- Building technical or subject matter expertise (hard skills)
- Improved communication and interpersonal skills
- Development of leadership skills, confidence, and executive presence
- Expanding a network, building connection, navigating an organization
- Career Pivot - transition to new role, career, and industry

I am a champion of diversity and inclusion, workplace culture, and women and parents in the workplace.

When and where do you hold meetings with your students?

Hybrid (mix of in-person and virtual). Can meet in either Seattle or the Queen Anne neighborhood.

Additional Information

I'm passionate about empowering women and parents in the workplace and fostering strong organizational culture. I'm a proud Seattle native and have 3 young daughters.

Students will get the most out of my mentorship if they are reliable, eager, good communicators, and committed to the program and their own growth.
