The plan is to tailor the mentoring experience to the individual mentee(s) in terms of topics/activities. I have a wide variety of experience across industries and positions and will share anything that may be relevant and of use to mentee(s) including interviewing, resumes, career paths, advancement strategies, leadership development, etc.
Students need to be proactive - driving the meeting cadence and topics. This is your experience so you need to determine your goals and areas of focus for the year.
As a mentor, I can support students in the following:
- Career exploration, matching interests and talents with professions and industries
- Building technical or subject matter expertise (hard skills)
- Development of leadership skills, confidence, and executive presence
- Building a career in analytics; how to speak about technical/complex concepts with non-technical audiences
- Help students gain confidence in their abilities and building confidence in applying analytics to business
